Plot and Setting

The game places the player in the role of Lucy (LC-16), an enhanced street samurai who awakens from cryostasis in the massive GenEmp Corporation building with complete amnesia. Driven to uncover her lost memories and identity, Lucy is quickly thrust into the brutal underbelly of Sunset City—a dystopian, crime-ridden metropolis.

A mysterious individual named Raven offers Lucy a deal: use her innate combat skills and superhuman agility to take down the nefarious megacorporation and its rival crime syndicates in exchange for the truth about her past. The narrative unfolds through NPC interactions, computer terminals, and side missions, providing a lore-rich backdrop to the constant chaos.

Core Gameplay and Mechanics

Beyond Sunset emphasizes fluid movement and aggressive, close-quarters combat. Lucy's core abilities include a dash, slide, and double jump, which are essential for navigating the large, open, and intricate levels.
