CloverPit is a dark, first-person roguelite horror game developed by Panik Arcade. Launched in 2025, the game combines the claustrophobic, intense atmosphere of a psychological horror escape room with the addictive, build-crafting mechanics of a modern roguelite, all centered around a single, sinister slot machine.

Premise: Gambling for Your Life

The player is trapped in a rusty, grimy, and oppressive prison cell, standing over a grate that leads to a terrifying pit. A mysterious, malevolent force demands payment of an ever-increasing debt or the trapdoor will open, ending the run.

The only tools for survival are a few sinister pieces of equipment within the cell:

• The Slot Machine: The primary interface for earning money. Players must pull the lever on the one-armed bandit to gain the coins necessary to meet their financial quota, or deadline, every round.

• The ATM: Used for depositing coins to keep track of debt and for the purchase of spins.

• The Phone: Rings every round to offer the player a choice of powerful, run-defining upgrades.

The central conflict of CloverPit is transforming the game of chance into a game of strategy, where survival depends on successfully manipulating the odds.

Gameplay: Charms and Synergies

Despite the slot machine being the main interaction, CloverPit is a strategy game that rewards meticulous planning and build optimization:

• The Charms System: After each round, the player earns Tickets, a run-specific currency used to purchase Charms from vending machines. Charms are the equivalent of "relics" or "jokers" in other roguelites, offering a massive array of bizarre effects.

  • Examples: Charms can permanently increase the odds of certain high-value symbols appearing, boost the multiplier on jackpot payouts, provide extra spins, or increase the crucial Luck stat.

• Luck and Guarantees: Raising the Luck stat is vital. If a player raises their Luck above a certain threshold, the slot machine becomes guaranteed to produce specific winning patterns, including the lucrative Jackpot, effectively "breaking the machine" to survive the deadline.

• Synergy and Build: The challenge is discovering which Charms and upgrades synergize best. A build might focus entirely on maximizing the interest rate on deposited coins, or another might combine Charms that increase the value of a specific symbol (e.g., the Cherry) with those that increase its appearance rate.
