Diluvion: Resubmerged is the definitive edition of the 2017 deep-sea exploration and action RPG originally developed by Arachnid Games. Inspired by the gothic and adventurous spirit of Jules Verne, the game plunges players into an alternate future where a "Great Flood" has covered the world, encasing the surface in an impenetrable layer of ice. Humanity now survives in the crushing depths, having built new civilizations, cultures, and factions under the vast, haunting ocean.

The Captain's Quest

Players step into the boots of an aspiring submarine captain, setting out on a quest to discover humanity's greatest secret—the remnants of the old world and a path to the surface. The game world is divided into three massive, open-sea zones, each with unique biomes, local lore, and perilous factions.

The visual style is a striking hybrid: the 3D world where the submarine is piloted features dark, atmospheric environments filled with bioluminescence and forgotten ruins, contrasting sharply with the meticulously hand-painted 2D graphics used when exploring towns, cities, and the interior of the sub.

Dual-Layered Survival and Management

Survival hinges on mastering two interconnected gameplay loops:

1. Submarine Piloting and Combat: Exploration is done in real-time 3D, requiring careful navigation through canyons, trenches, and settlements. Combat is a thrilling real-time affair, where the player must utilize an arsenal of cannons and torpedoes to fight off rival subs and terrifying giant sea creatures.

2. Crew and Resource Management: The sub's operation is handled by a customizable crew, whom the player must recruit and manage. Crew members, with their unique skills as Helmsmen, Gunners, or Sonar Technicians, are placed at stations to boost the sub’s performance in combat and exploration. Crucially, the player must actively manage limited resources like food supplies and oxygen to keep the crew alive and functional.

The Resubmerged Enhancements

The Resubmerged update was a major overhaul designed to address criticisms of the original release, adding significant depth and quality-of-life improvements:

• Revamped Systems: Navigation and pathfinding were heavily improved, making exploration less frustrating. The ability to save anywhere was added, and the user interface (UI) received a complete, streamlined overhaul.

• Deeper Customization: The salvaging and forging system was reworked to be more dynamic and tactical, allowing for greater customization of the nine unique pilotable submarines with upgrades for armor, depth range, and life support.

• New Content: The update introduced new side quests, fresh artwork, and additional music, enriching the lore and providing more incentives for players to delve into the depths and discover hidden treasures and secrets.
