Dungeon Inn is a unique and cozy strategy management game that casts players as Sara, an ambitious innkeeper who has established her business, along with her two feline companions, at the most strategic (and precarious) location possible: the very mouth of a mysterious, newly opened dungeon. The premise is built on a tightrope walk of high-stakes duplicity: the inn's success is tied directly to serving two powerful, fiercely rival guilds who are desperate to plunder the dungeon's secrets, while ensuring they never cross paths.

The Management Balancing Act

The core of Dungeon Inn's gameplay is a turn-based strategic puzzle centered around adventurer flow management. Adventurers from the two competing factions—the Mountain Guild and the Seaside Guild—travel toward the inn on separate paths. The player’s main objective is to use a variety of deployable tools to manipulate this flow, effectively turning the two lanes into a logistical nightmare.

Each week, players must deploy items like signposts, stalls, and covert traps to slow down one faction while strategically guiding the other into the inn to fill rooms and maximize profits. The challenge is in the timing; a miscalculated turn could lead to members of the rival guilds meeting right on the doorstep. Since their feud is intense, a clash is catastrophic, threatening to expose Sara's secret double-dealing and potentially leading to the destruction of her business.

 Covert Operations and Consequences

When a guild clash is imminent, the game introduces a layer of covert intervention. Players can send out armored wisps to secretly tip the scales in favor of one guild or the other. Successfully reducing the immediate threat and maintaining the delicate peace helps mitigate rising Suspicion levels. These suspicion ratings, fueled by accidental meetings or specific actions, must be constantly monitored and addressed, as high suspicion will severely damage the inn's reputation and financial health.

Beyond the external logistics, players must also manage the internal workings of the inn itself. This involves handling Special Situations that arise daily—dealing with rowdy guests, fulfilling requests for rare items, or managing unexpected accidents. Every choice Sara makes, from what type of tea to serve to how she resolves a broken plate, impacts her overall reputation, income, and the ever-present suspicion meter.

Expansion and Narrative

The ultimate goal is to generate enough gold to pay a demanding weekly tribute to the dragon that bankrolled the inn's creation (a deal Sara struck to secure the prime location). Profits are reinvested into expanding the inn, adding exciting new facilities like training rooms, restaurants, and luxury suites. These upgrades not only attract more lucrative guests but also unlock new story events and opportunities.
