Geo Mythica is an action role-playing game (RPG) developed by Guin Entertainment, LLC, released in 2025. It is a love letter to the classic 8-bit JRPGs of the 1990s, combining retro pixel-art visuals with a modern, fast-paced combat system and a quirky, globe-trotting storyline.

The Story: Saving 199X Earth

The game is set in a 1990s-inspired version of Earth, a time period characterized by its blend of the mundane and the deeply strange. The story centers on Gio Zachary, a high school football player from San Luis Obispo, California. What starts as research for a history project quickly turns into a world-spanning adventure when Gio discovers the Atlas, a mysterious artifact only he can read.

The Atlas reveals a hidden, magical underworld beneath the Earth and puts Gio in the crosshairs of the nefarious Sur Nova corporation. This corporation is seeking to use the power of the Atlas and various Orb Fragments scattered across the globe for its own nefarious ends, threatening to unleash chaos upon the world. Gio is forced to leave his ordinary life and travel the planet, collecting the fragments and assembling an ever more unusual team of allies.

The narrative is intentionally light-hearted and doesn't take itself too seriously, featuring bizarre characters like a Geordie dragon and a race-hosting sloth village, lending it a charming, cartoonish feel reminiscent of classic retro adventure titles.

Combat: Real-Time and Strategic

Geo Mythica's combat is a distinctive party-based system that blends the urgency of real-time action with the tactical depth of strategic commands.

• Active Real-Time Combat: Players directly control one of the three active party members, who can move, attack, and combo opponents in real-time.

• Strategic Commands: The others in the party follow rudimentary AI orders, but the player can freeze time (or slow it down considerably) at any moment to issue precise strategic commands, such as instructing an ally to use a specific skill, spell, or item. This mechanic allows players to either enjoy fast-paced action or pause to employ deep tactical planning, catering to various playstyles.

• Talents and Customization: As characters level up, players earn Talent Points to upgrade unique skills, assignable spells, or core attributes. The system encourages experimentation, as character builds can be adapted to suit different challenges.
