King's League II is the sequel to the award-winning strategy simulation RPG developed by Kurechii. Released in 2019, the game takes the successful core loop of its predecessor—recruiting, managing, and training a team of fantasy fighters to compete in a prestigious league—and expands it with deeper character progression, facility management, and a dedicated, character-driven story mode.

The Management Loop: Time is Gold

The core gameplay centers on a relentless calendar system that constantly ticks forward. This establishes a sense of urgency, as players must strategically manage their limited resources—primarily Gold and Training Points—against the upcoming league battles and tournaments.

The primary management tasks include:

• Recruitment: Players scour various towns and castles across the kingdom of Kurestal to recruit fighters from over 30 distinct classes, ranging from Warriors and Witches to specialized units like Sawbutchers. Rare and Epic units can be found or unlocked through the story.

• Training and Progression: Fighters are trained based on their specific personalities and favored methods for maximum effectiveness. Successful training leads to increased stats, and upon reaching certain levels, fighters can unlock Class Advancements (e.g., a Warrior can specialize into a high-defense Knight or a high-damage Gladiator), fundamentally altering their role on the team.

• Facility Upgrades: Investing in the home base is crucial. Upgrading facilities grants passive bonuses, improves training efficiency, and unlocks access to better gear and new opportunities like quests and dungeons.

The Battles: Tactical Positioning

While the training and management are turn-based, the battles themselves play out in auto-combat once initiated. Players select up to five units and determine their initial positioning (frontline tanks, backline damage dealers). The fighters automatically engage, exchanging blows based on their stats and class.

The tactical element comes into play through:

• Class Skills: During the auto-battle, players must manually trigger powerful class skills at the opportune moment—using a healer's resurrection ability, a mage's area-of-effect blast, or a defender's temporary shield—to decisively turn the tide of a close fight.

• Team Composition: Victory heavily relies on pre-match preparation, forcing players to tailor their five-person roster to counter the opposing team's setup and class weaknesses.

Story and Classic Modes

King's League II offers two distinct ways to play:

1. Story Mode: This is the main campaign, focusing on the journey of the main hero, Maxwell, a prince seeking to prove himself and redeem his family’s honor by climbing the ranks to the King's League. This mode is integrated with narrative dialogue, moral choices, and quests that naturally unlock characters and game features.

2. Classic Mode: This stripped-down, traditional mode focuses solely on the management loop, free from the story characters and plot elements, appealing to players who prefer the pure strategy simulation experience.
