Splittown is a classic point-and-click adventure game that serves as a loving and accurate throwback to the golden age of the genre, channeling the zany humor, complex inventory puzzles, and distinctive art style of early 90s titles like Day of the Tentacle and Sam & Max Hit The Road. Developed by the duo at All-Seeing Eye, the game’s core mission is to recreate the authentic "LucasArts feel" for a modern audience.

The game is set in a world literally and figuratively split in two by a lingering Cold War. The titular Splittown is situated right in the middle, adjacent to the Great Divide, an impenetrable barrier of concrete and barbed wire. Players step into the shoes of Leonard Nimby, a stone-faced former top agent of the fictional spy organization IM5. Nimby’s mission begins when a new shrink ray is stolen from headquarters by the villainous mayoral candidate, Goldenmouth, on the eve of a fateful election. It’s up to the deadpan, trenchcoat-wearing ex-agent to navigate the absurd conspiracy and retrieve the stolen invention.

Classic Puzzle Design

Splittown embraces the multi-layered and often improbable logic of its inspiration. Progress is driven by traditional inventory puzzles, where players must collect a bizarre assortment of items and figure out how to "Use" them with environmental objects or other items to produce a necessary outcome. You’ll be cracking confounding codes, activating obscure pump systems, and manipulating complicated machinery, all befitting the life of a secret agent.

The game features highly interactive scenes and encourages constant experimentation and exploration. Humor is woven into the fabric of the experience, delivered through witty dialogue and the protagonist's sardonic internal monologue, as well as plenty of sight gags and fourth-wall breaks.
