Muse was built around a design-first philosophy, making the workflow intuitive for professionals already familiar with print layout tools like Adobe InDesign.

1. Visual Website Creation

• No Code Required: The core appeal was the ability to design websites visually, using drag-and-drop elements, similar to laying out a magazine page.
• Design-Centric Interface: Designers could work on a canvas, adding elements like text, images, and shapes, and Muse would automatically generate the necessary static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

2. Responsive Web Design

• The later CC 2018 versions included robust features for creating responsive websites. Designers could utilize:
  • Breakpoints: Defining specific points where the layout of the site would change to adapt to different screen sizes (desktop, tablet, mobile).

Adobe announced the end of new feature development for Muse in March 2018 (making the CC 2018 release the final one), and technical support officially ended in March 2020.
