Steinberg HALion is a highly versatile and powerful software instrument developed by Steinberg, often considered a complete VST Sampler, Synthesizer, and Sound Design System for professional music production and film scoring. it is a hybrid platform that combines multiple forms of synthesis with a high-performance sample engine.

HALion Sonic CollectionMusic Producers & Composers. a ready-to-use virtual instrument workstation. Combines the HALion Sonic player with all the instruments and content of the full HALion version. Excellent for playing instruments but lacks the deep sound design tools (editing/scripting).

HALion Sonic (Free Player)Users/Consumers.  a free player for HALion-based instruments.Can load and play instruments created with the full HALion software (including third-party libraries and the free instruments from Steinberg). Included with Cubase.
