Farming Simulator 25 (FS25), released on November 12, 2024, is the latest flagship installment in the highly successful agricultural simulation series from GIANTS Software. Built on the new GIANTS Engine 10, the game delivers a modernized and expansive farming experience, placing players in charge of their own operation across diverse global landscapes with vastly improved visual fidelity and deeper mechanics.

Three New Global Destinations

A cornerstone of FS25 is the introduction of three distinct and massive maps, offering unique challenges, topography, and cultural aesthetics:

• Riverbend Springs (North America): A classic, winding North American map featuring historic buildings and gentle streams, focusing on large-scale, traditional agriculture.

• Hutan Pantai (East Asia): A lush, vibrant landscape centered around rice paddies and mountains near a neon-lit port city, introducing new cultural challenges and infrastructure.

• Zielonka (Central Europe): A picturesque and fertile region surrounded by ponds and quaint villages, offering a familiar, intricate European farming experience.

Expanded Agriculture and New Animals

To utilize these new terrains, FS25 significantly expands the range of crops and livestock, focusing on diversification and new production chains:

• New Crops: The game introduces several new crops, most notably Rice and Long Grain Rice (requiring special planters and harvesters adapted for flooded fields), as well as Spinach, Peas, and Green Beans. With over 20 crops total, players must master specialized machinery and seasonal timing for peak efficiency.

• New Animals: The livestock roster expands with the addition of Goats and Water Buffalos, alongside the returning Cows, Sheep, Pigs, and Chickens. This allows for new animal-based production chains, such as Goat Cheese and Mozzarella from water buffalo milk.

The jump to GIANTS Engine 10 allows for enhanced visual effects and critical gameplay changes that increase immersion and realism:

• Dynamic Weather: New weather events, including twisters and hail, require players to protect crops and stored bales, adding an element of preparation and risk management.

• Ground Deformation: The environment is now more interactive, with realistic ground deformation that affects vehicle handling and traction, making driving on wet or soft terrain a tactical challenge.

• Precision Farming and Automation: The game includes advanced tools like GPS-assisted steering to ensure perfectly straight field lines and efficient resource use. The automated worker system has also been refined, allowing for more strategic delegation of tasks.
