Grand Theft Auto III: Set in the dark, gritty Liberty City (a fictionalized New York City), it follows the silent protagonist Claude on a brutal quest for revenge after being betrayed by his girlfriend during a bank heist. This game introduced the revolutionary 3D open-world gameplay that defined the series.

2.
