Gameplay: Shepherd, Builder, and Protector

The core objective in Moons of Darsalon is to rescue stranded Darsanauts—your fellow spacemen—who have been scattered across the dangerous, alien-infested moons of Darsalon. Each level is a complex, physics-based puzzle where you, as the primary rescue Darsanaut, must guide these helpless colleagues back to the nearest base station.

While your character is agile, equipped with a laser gun, and can eventually find a jetpack, the rescued Darsanauts rely on your commands and the surrounding environment. You use a limited set of voice commands—follow, wait, go left, and go right—to direct them. The challenge lies in the Darsanauts' realistic pathfinding AI: they will follow your orders, but they are also programmed with self-preservation, refusing to jump into pits, walk off sheer drops, or enter dark, unexplored areas.

To overcome obstacles, you are equipped with powerful tools:

• The Laser Gun: Primarily for fighting hostile alien life, but it can also be used to destroy and blast away terrain, creating new paths or holes.

• The Ground Maker Gun: This innovative tool allows you to build solid terrain, creating bridges over chasms, blocking acid flow, or shielding your followers from enemy fire.

• Light Gun/Flashlight: Crucial for safety, as Darsanauts will halt their progress in the dark, requiring you to illuminate their path.

The missions are a high-stakes balancing act of puzzle-solving, combat, and resource management. You must simultaneously fight enemies, manage ammunition, control fuel for your jetpack, and most importantly, issue the right commands at the right time to ensure your group safely navigates the dynamically destructible and creatable environment.

The game’s aesthetic is a loving homage to early '90s computing and classic sci-fi.
