Released in July 2024, the game places the player in the galaxy's darkest hole—an experimental entity housing aliens of all stripes—with the ultimate goal of surviving the brutal hierarchy and orchestrating an escape.

The Survival and Social Loop

The game's primary loop is built around a demanding daily routine of survival and social advancement:

• Resource Management: Survival requires constant resource scavenging, as essentials like food and sanitation are scarce. Players must manage their Hunger and Hope meters, as losing motivation can be as detrimental as physical injury. These meters directly impact the perks and debuffs applied to the character.

• Crafting Contraband: To survive and escape, players must scavenge scrap to craft contraband—improvised weapons (shivs, blunts, whips), armor, and tools—at illegal workbenches. Inventory management is key, as these items must be concealed in special slots to avoid confiscation during security checkpoints.

• Gang Hierarchy: The prison is dominated by two main factions, such as the Gravity Fist and Hypernova. Players must choose a gang, perform jobs, and fight their way up the ranks to earn Respect. Rising in the hierarchy grants access to gang hideouts, specialized tools, and crucial intel for the escape plan.

Turn-Based Tactical Combat

When disputes arise or exploration demands it, the game shifts to fast-paced, turn-based tactical brawls:

• Squad Management: Players manage a squad that can include trusted inmate allies and even tamed space rats (which can be equipped with tiny armor and gear).

• Improvised Warfare: Combat utilizes the improvised contraband crafted by the player. Each weapon type has unique advantages—whips pull enemies, shivs cause bleed effects, and blunts can hit multiple targets. Successful combat requires exploiting enemy weaknesses, which are learned through social interaction.

• Roguelite Recovery: A defining feature is the roguelite recovery system. If the player dies, they don't escape their sentence; their mind is transferred to a new, often more alien body, and they reappear in the same, intact cell with all their hidden contraband. This mechanic encourages high-risk exploration without punishing overall progression.
