Flowstone Saga is a captivating 16-bit JRPG-inspired adventure that dares to blend classic role-playing elements with a unique, frantic puzzle-based combat system. Combat against pirates, monsters, and the villainous Byzankar Empire is handled via a falling-block puzzle board reminiscent of Tetris. Clearing a line executes an attack against the enemy, and the amount of damage dealt is tied directly to her RPG stats and abilities.

The battle system introduces deep layers of strategy beyond simple line-clearing:

• Link Crystals & Heat: Pieces contain Link Crystals; matching three of these boosts a Heat meter, which significantly increases attack power, rewarding players for setting up chain reactions.

• Elemental Powers: Players can infuse the board with elemental magic (Fire, Ice, Lightning) to exploit enemy weaknesses and create powerful effects.

• Tactical Depth: Enemies are not passive; they actively attack and disrupt the board with unique mechanics like lasers that destroy tiles, fire breath that applies damage-over-time, or spells that shift pieces, forcing players to adapt on the fly.

For players who prefer a slower pace, the game offers a "Hold Mode", which effectively turns the puzzle combat into a turn-based system, eliminating the falling pieces' real-time pressure and allowing greater focus on strategy.

Building a Home and an Identity

The adventure extends far beyond the puzzle board. Mirai must use the Flowstone's power to help develop and expand her home, the town of New Riverstone.
