The city is populated by a colorful and chatty cast of animal characters, including a resourceful crow obsessed with shiny objects, a philosophical tanuki who manages a fast-travel network via manholes, and a duck father perpetually losing his ducklings. Completing their side quests often rewards the player with new emotes or the game's primary collectible: delightful hats.

Hats, ranging from a tiny banana peel to a full Shiba Inu helmet, are found in hidden gacha machines or earned by exchanging "shinies" (nuts, bolts, and glittery trash) with the crow.
